Our Intrinsic Worth
In the grand tapestry of existence, envision God’s perspective—a divine creator crafting humanity in a world of perfection. Genesis 1:31 paints a picture of God surveying His creation, declaring it “very good.” Yet, over the span of 10,000 years, we find ourselves far removed from that initial state of perfection. As we navigate the complexities of life, often consumed by the fleeting wonders of our current world, have we considered what our true essence should be? What if, for a moment, we caught a glimpse of the perfected beings we were meant to be? Would it reshape the value we place on our lives and on one another? Psalm 139:14 guides us to acknowledge our intrinsic worth: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” These words invite us to recognize the intricate craftsmanship of our existence and the divine intention behind our creation. Each individual is a masterpiece, intricately woven into the fabric of God’s design. Considering the present challenges and struggles, Romans 8:18 provides perspective: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” This verse illuminates the promise of a glorious future, transcending the trials of the present moment. So, how valuable are our lives when viewed through the lens of our divine origin and potential? It’s a profound reflection that encourages us to rediscover our intrinsic worth. The perfection we once embodied may seem like a distant memory, but the promise of future glory reveals an enduring value within each of us. As we navigate the complexities of existence, let us pause and consider the narrative from God’s perspective. Embracing the truth of our inherent worth, we may find a renewed sense of purpose, gratitude, and reverence for the divine masterpiece that is the human soul.
